Getting to Benissa from Alicante Airport
Benissa is an upmarket resort that is a little off the beaten track and is a bit of a hidden gem. Villas are located on the hillsides with fantastic views and hidden coves and beaches add to the mystery of the resort.
Benissa is located just over an hour away from the nearest airport which is Alicante Airport. There are no direct buses are train services so if one has booked a villa privately then one also needs to organise a way to get Benissa. This also applies to neighbouring resorts such as Moraira and there are many airport transfers to Javea which is also close by.
The most popular way to get to Benissa is to hire a car, which can book at the same time as flights and accommodation. One can also just hop into a taxi or book a private transfer. There are also train and bus services available from the Alicante City Centre to Benissa, which aren’t available directly from the airport, but that isn’t a problem as there are regular buses to the City Centre or one could catch a taxi.

If you are a family of 4 then you need to really look for bargain tickets as any money even if its a small percentage it can pay for some of the hotels or accomodation cost. There are several ways you can get cheap tickets to India. Some the things to remember if you are looking for bargain on airtickets are
1. Book as much in advance as you can. A flight that is booked 7 to 8 months in advance can be cheaper that a flight booked only a month before departure. The reason is that airlines can plan much better if they know in advance the number of passengers they are likely to have.
2. Check with atleast 2 or 3 websites and with your high street travel agent. Some sites even give you a cash back if you book tickets through them. The sites that are famous for doing that are quidco or topcashback. It is always preferable to buy from the internet because their support departments are usually open 24 hours a day. The reason is that most of their customers are internet based that usually buy outside of office hours and to compete all internet based agents are now offering 24 hours call centres.
3. If its possible for you to wait then try to book your tickets around January as most airlines have a sale during that period. The Christmas period is just over and airlines need to drive up their sales. Hence in the months of January and February they tend to have special offers to many destinations. Some of them are to tropical destinations where you can escape during the winter month in Europe. Indian cities are usually included in the sale.
4. Non-stop air fares tend to be more expensive than those with a halt. Always compare both of them to get an idea. Travelling with children might be difficult if you have a long stop so only book if the stop is small say 2 or 3 hours.
